About Mikayla
Mikayla Kares was born in New York City but currently living in Charleston, South Carolina while having the full availability to travel as needed. Mikayla has been performing since the age of 2 and her goal is to be a professional dancer, actress and model. Mikayla specializes in jazz, ballet, lyrical, musical theater, contemporary, ballroom, hip hop, tap, acro and acting in commercials, television shows and movies. She would like to model in fashion shows and magazines.
Mikayla has been training and competing for dance with her home studio Tapio School of Dance where she has trained for 8 years. Mikayla also takes lessons for acting and singing. She takes lessons for ballet with Palmetto City Ballet, acro lessons at Tapio School of Dance and Gymnastics and ballroom with the International Ballroom. Mikayla is under the mentorship of Menina Fortunato of the Business of Dance. She attends Palmetto City Ballet classes and pre professional daytime program. Mikayla attends numerous dance competitions and conventions each year including NRG Dance project, ID Dance Competition, 24seven Dance Competition, Dancemakersinc., NYCDA, Adrenaline Dance, Encore, Imagine Dance Challenge, Revel Dance Convention, ID Dance, VIP Dance, Ignite Dance, Headliners, Groove and Inferno.
Mikayla is represented by Coastal Talent and has walked in NY Fashion week for Kayzie Couture, Willow Bean Studio, and Rhinestone Sugar Couture. Mikayla performs in a variety of musicals and plays in the Charleston, SC area. Mikayla's favorite style of dance include musical theater, contemporary and jazz.
Mikayla enjoys acting and singing in musical performances. Mikayla's favorite part of dance performance is telling a story and acting while dancing. Mikayla never misses an opportunity to train and dance. Mikayla works hard and has a positive attitude. In the near future, Mikayla hopes to dance on broadway, a music video or television. Mikayla hopes to be an actor in a film or television series.
She would like to continue walking in NY Fashion Week and pursue modeling opportunities. Mikayla's long term goals are to relocate to California or New York City and pursue a career in dance, acting and modeling. While attending college at the University of Southern California, The Julliard School or Stanford University.
